Itinerary

Welcome to Bhutan: Arrive at Paro International Airport, where you’ll be greeted by our representative and transferred to Thimphu, the capital city.

Scenic Drive: Enjoy the beautiful drive along the Paro River, stopping at Tamchu to visit Tachog Lhakhang.

Relax and Unwind: Spend the remainder of the day at your leisure to unwind and rejuvenate.

Overnight: Stay overnight at a hotel in Thimphu.

 

Cheri Monastery: Drive to Dodena and embark on a challenging one-hour hike to Cheri Monastery, founded in 1620 by Zhabdrung Ngawang Namgyal.

Tango Goemba: Continue your exploration with a visit to Tango Goemba, requiring another strenuous one-hour ascent.

Tashichho Dzong: If time permits, visit Tashichho Dzong, the seat of the royal government and central monastic body.

Overnight: Stay overnight at a hotel in Thimphu.

 

Drive to Paro: Embark on a 2-hour drive to the trailhead in Paro.

Taktsang Monastery: Begin a challenging hike lasting four to six hours to reach Taktsang Monastery, perched on a cliff 2,700 feet above the Paro Valley.

Lunch: Enjoy lunch at the tea house located beneath the monastery.

Explore Paro: Visit the ancient Kichu Lhakhang and delve into its legends.

Overnight: Stay overnight at a hotel in Paro.

 

Drive to Haa Valley: Embark on a three-hour drive to reach a campsite in the Haa Valley.

Explore Haa Valley: Take a leisurely stroll through a medieval village and visit Jungney Dra and Kathso Gompa.

Lhakhang Karpo: Explore Lhakhang Karpo, also known as the “temple of the white dove.”

Homestay Option: Experience traditional Bhutanese hospitality by staying in a local homestay or opt for a hotel stay.

Overnight: Stay overnight in Haa (Hotel or Homestay).

Start Trek: Commence your trek with a gradual ascent through a serene blue pine forest and verdant farmland.

Lunch: Enjoy lunch in a picturesque grassy meadow at approximately 11,200 feet.

Camp: Continue to a campsite at 11,800 feet, located approximately 45 minutes below Saga La pass.

Optional Hike: If weather permits, embark on an afternoon hike up to Saga La pass for stunning vistas of Jhomolhari peak and the Haa Valley.

Overnight: Camp overnight below Saga La pass.

Ascent to Saga La: Begin your day with another ascent to Saga La.

Traverse Ridge: Traverse along the ridge, ascending and descending to an elevation of 13,200 feet.

Camp: Set up camp at Ningula amidst a picturesque rhododendron forest, offering magnificent views of Jhomolhari and Jichu Drakye.

Overnight: Camp overnight at Ningula.

 

Ascend to Ridge: Ascend steeply back to the ridge and traverse across the Kale La pass at 12,900 feet.

Panoramic Views: Enjoy captivating views of Paro and the Haa Valley, including Paro Dzong and surrounding peaks.

Kung Karpo: Continue your ascent to Kung Karpo at 13,500 feet for panoramic views of the mountains and valleys.

Descend to Chele La: Descend and traverse towards the Chele La pass at 13,080 feet.

Overnight: Camp overnight near Chele La pass.

 

Farewell: Transfer to Paro International Airport for your departure flight.
