Itinerary
You will be welcomed at Paro international airport from where there will be a scenic drive towards Haa valley. There will be over night stay at Haa in a comfortable accommodation.
Start Trek: Begin your trek with a gentle ascent towards the Talela Pass at 3,780 meters, amidst dense rhododendron and conifer forests.
Yak Herders’ Camp: Continue your gradual ascent to the yak herders’ camp at Tshojo.
Gochula Pass: Climb further to the Gochula Pass at 4,200 meters. Beyond this pass, the trail follows a ridge before gradually descending to our campsite at Womji.
Camp: Camp overnight at Womji.
Distance: 14 km
Duration: 5-6 hours
Trek: Commence your trek with a steep ascent through dense juniper and rhododendron forests, leading to the Gochhila Pass at 4,350 meters, offering breathtaking panoramas of the entire Tshejala range.
Yak Herders’ Camps: Continue onwards, passing by various yak herders’ camps. In the springtime, the trail is adorned with a vibrant carpet of wildflowers.
Tshejala Pass: Your journey then takes you towards the Tshejala Pass, crossing the historic trade route from Haa to Tibet.
Camp: Camp overnight at Tsho Napata.
Distance: 22 km
Duration: 7-8 hours
Explore: Spend the day exploring the area around the sacred lake, visiting the yak herders’ camp, and seeing golden trout.
Relax: Enjoy the serene surroundings and take in the natural beauty of the area.
Camp: Camp overnight at Tsho Napata.
Trek: Backtrack to the Gochhila Pass, then veer off onto a new path, ascending over a ridge to reach Lake Tsojo at 3,780 meters.
Detour: Take a slight detour from the main trail for approximately thirty minutes to visit Ngatsho or Drum Lake and Dungkar Lake, where you’ll enjoy a picnic lunch.
Descend: Following lunch, descend to the yak meadow campsite at Tsojo.
Camp: Camp overnight at Tsojo.
Distance: 19 km
Duration: 6-7 hours
Trek: On the final day of the trek, the trail gently descends through dense juniper and rhododendron forests until you arrive at the Talila Pass.
Haa Valley: After crossing the pass, re-enter the Haa Valley, marking the end of your trek.
Transfer to Paro: Transportation will be waiting to transfer you back to Paro, where you’ll spend the night at an altitude of 2,350 meters.
Overnight: Stay overnight at a hotel in Paro.
Distance: 10 km
Duration: 3-4 hours
Farewell: Transfer to Paro International Airport for your departure flight.
